Stepping into mountains veiled in spring haze, I turn my gaze— the sea stretches endlessly far below.

The bitter winter wind blows the setting sun into the waiting sea

Like snow upon the scattered peaks of Sagami's distant mountains— even should it melt away, my love for you will not

Against the thundering shore of the great sea, waves crash and shatter— breaking, splitting, scattering into foam.

On cypress leaves still wet from the passing shower— mist rises into autumn dusk

These lingering spring days stack one upon another— how distant now, the past

Like seaweed on the rocks, bending always toward one shore— so my heart leans toward you, beloved, whom I cannot help but remember.

Autumn wind sweeps through— thickets, fields, all transformed into Mount Fuji's realm

If only this world could stay unchanged forever— How it moves me, the rope that pulls the fisherman's small boat along the shore.

Crossing Hakone's mountain pass, the Izu sea opens before me— waves breaking on distant islands.
